From Gaia to Vancouver, teaching all the way.
Born and raised in Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal, and now proudly living in Vancouver, Canada, I have spent my life immersed in the beauty of the Portuguese language and culture. I've worked as an educator for over 20 years, helping people of all ages achieve their learning goals.
Whether you are here to reconnect with your heritage, prepare for a big move, or just challenge your brain, I am so excited to share the richness of European Portuguese with you.
How I teach.
I have been teaching Portuguese for X years, and three things have never changed.
Structured, not stiff
As a former university instructor, I plan lessons around learning methodology and best teaching practice — designed for retention, not for looking busy.
Warm and encouraging
Learning a language can feel intimidating. My classroom is a space where you feel completely safe to try, stumble and succeed.
Portuguese from Portugal
Aligned with the official European levels, A1 to C1 — the language as it's spoken at home, with the culture attached.
You will make mistakes in my lessons. That's the plan — it's how the language moves from the page into your mouth. Boa! is the word you'll hear most.
