What Do A1, A2, B1, B2 Mean?

These are levels from the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) — the international standard used to describe language proficiency. Here’s a quick guide:

A1 — Complete beginner. Learning first words and phrases.
A2 — Elementary. Can handle simple, everyday interactions.
B1 — Intermediate. Can manage most travel situations and hold basic conversations.
